I bought this to replace my LPVO on an AR15. I couldn’t justify the size or the weight of the LPVO when I was only using one particular magnification the whole time.

This is a great alternative. Obviously, the eye relief isn’t as good, but the reticle is sharp and very bright, field of view isn’t bad, and it weighs less than half what my LPVO weighs.

The only complaint I have about it is adjustments are 1 MOA per click. I think they should be 0.5 on a 5x optic. Also I wish it came with an absolute co-witness mount. PA includes a ton of mounts with their optics but Vortex only included the lower 1/3 and a low mount. The low mount is a touch too low and the 1/3 is too high for me. But I’m sure it will work for most people.

Either way, I highly recommend this optic. I’m considering getting the 3x version for my SBR.

First off, the quality of this LPVO is fantastic. Strong metal that could definitely take some abuse. Brightness is fantastic too. HOWEVER, the thing is pretty heavy. Eye relief is great. I am no expert, but I feel like the eye forgives (how much left or right movement before lose sight picture) could be better.

After researching numerous scopes and multiple variables from FFP to SFP, reticles, glass, etc., I decided on the Razor HD-E Gen II JM-1 BDC (1-6x) and I couldn’t be happier! I haven’t had range time with it as of yet, but I’m sure it’ll be a GREAT DAY after mounting it and looking through some of clearest glass I’ve ever seen! It currently sit atop my BCM Recce 16 and the added weight is definitely manageable. The only negatives I came across were in regards to weight and mostly toward the older Gen II. SFP works me and this application which played a major factor in my decision. The reticle is beyond daylight bright by the way! I had to turn that thing down! I got it bore sighted in today and the only left is range time! Shipping was fast and product came packaged nicely with everything described.

I like how wide the window is, it makes it very easy to find the dot. The more oval shape is a little bit narrower height than something like the SRO though.
The coating makes the glass super clear with minimal reflections. There is zero distortion near the edges of the housing. I notice on the SRO and RMR there is a bit of distortion/lensing effect near the edges. I'm not sure if that means there is more parallax at the edges of the Romeo that affect accuracy when the dot is at the edge? I just keep the dot centered in the window and it seems to work beautifully and stays zeroed.
