What’s Upgraded on the 2026 SPECPRECISION SF M300V & M600V Tactical Flashlights?

As most people familiar with tactical lights already know, the M300V and M600V are among the most popular weapon-mounted Scout Light designs on the market. Over the years, many manufacturers have produced replicas, including WDS, SOTAC, EVOLUTIONGEAR, and others.

The problem is that most of these replicas have never been quite complete.

Some only provide visible white light and lack IR illumination altogether. Others use a conventional reflector instead of a proper TIR lens, which significantly changes the beam pattern. Surface finishing is another common weakness, with incorrect colors, poor anodizing, or a finish that simply does not feel close to the original product.

With our 2026 M300V and M600V, we focused on fixing all of those shortcomings.

From white-light output and candela to waterproofing, beam quality, surface treatment, and FDE color accuracy, the new SPECPRECISION M300V and M600V are designed to perform well beyond the typical replicas currently available on the market.

The housing still looks familiar. The controls are familiar too.

The biggest changes are inside the light head, in the beam, and in the way the body is finished and sealed.

For 2026, both the SPECPRECISION M300V IR and M600V IR receive a new TIR optical system, 500-lumen white-light output, dedicated IR illumination, improved waterproofing, and a tougher hard-anodized aluminum finish.

Here’s what actually changed.

1. The Biggest Upgrade Is the TIR Lens

Lumens are easy to put on a specification sheet.

Beam quality is harder to explain until you put two lights next to each other.

That was one of the main reasons we changed the optical system on the 2026 M300V and M600V.

Both models now use an upgraded TIR — Total Internal Reflection — lens, based on the same type of optical concept used in the original V-series design.

A good tactical light shouldn’t simply create the brightest possible spot in the middle of the beam.

You need a defined hotspot for distance, but you also need usable surrounding light so you can still see what is happening around it.

The new TIR lens gives the 2026 version:

• A cleaner central hotspot
• Better control of the beam edge
• More useful peripheral spill
• Better forward throw
• A more balanced beam outdoors

The easiest way to describe it is that the light simply looks more controlled.

For us, this was a more important upgrade than simply chasing a bigger lumen number.

2. 500 Lumens — But With a Better Beam

Both 2026 models now deliver 500 lumens of visible white light.

You get a bright center for looking farther ahead, while still keeping enough surrounding illumination to understand what is around the hotspot.

That balance matters much more in actual use than a huge lumen number printed on the box.

3. White Light When You Need It. IR When You Don’t.

Rotate the selector one direction for visible white light, return it to OFF, or rotate it to the other position for infrared illumination.

There is no external IR filter to install.

The 850nm IR illumination is designed for use with compatible night-vision equipment, giving the same light two very different jobs.

During normal low-light use, you have a conventional 500-lumen white light.

When working with night vision, switch to IR and the light becomes an infrared illuminator.

White light and IR are separate modes and do not operate at the same time.

For people who already use night vision, this is one of those features that makes much more sense in practice than it does on a specification sheet. One light stays on the setup and covers both visible and IR illumination.

4. IPX68 Waterproofing Is Now Standard

A tactical light isn’t something that will always be used indoors. It needs to keep working in harsh conditions, whether in heavy rain, mud, or other demanding outdoor environments. That kind of reliability matters, and it’s something we made sure to achieve.

That gives us much more confidence using it in:

• Heavy rain
• Wet hunting environments
• Muddy outdoor conditions
• High-humidity environments
• Harsh outdoor training conditions

5. CNC Aluminum and a Tougher Hard-Anodized Finish

The 2026 M300V and M600V use a CNC-machined aerospace-grade aluminum body with a hard-anodized exterior finish.

The aluminum body keeps the light relatively lightweight while still providing the rigidity needed to protect the electronics and optical components inside.

The upgraded anodized finish improves resistance to:

• Scratches
• Surface wear
• Corrosion
• Repeated installation and removal
• General outdoor abuse

We don’t expect a mounted light to remain cosmetically perfect forever. Equipment gets used.

The goal was simply to make the finish hold up better while keeping the surface texture and appearance closer to what people expect from this style of light.

6. We Paid Extra Attention to the FDE Version

This is especially noticeable on the FDE version.

FDE is surprisingly difficult to get right.

For the 2026 production run, we adjusted the surface treatment and FDE tone to make the finish more realistic while still keeping the metallic character of anodized aluminum.

7. M300V or M600V?

The two lights share the same basic idea: compact white-light and IR illumination in one V-series style platform.

The choice mainly comes down to the size of the setup you want.

The M300V IR keeps things compact. It makes sense when overall length and weight are priorities.

The M600V IR uses the longer M600-style body and is the better fit when you prefer the full-size configuration.

What Both 2026 Versions Have in Common

Both 2026 versions now share the upgrades that mattered most to us:

• Upgraded TIR optics
• 500-lumen white light
• 850nm IR illumination
• IPX68 waterproofing
• CNC aluminum construction
• Hard-anodized finish
• Improved FDE color

We didn’t redesign the product simply to make it look different.

We kept the familiar M300V and M600V format and focused on improving the things that actually matter when the light is being used: beam quality, brightness, IR capability, waterproofing, durability, and surface finish.
